We are happy to announce that we have launched version 3 of DRMtoday!
DRMtoday is our cloud-based digital rights management (DRM) licensing service. With support for multiple common DRM systems, it provides protected video playback solutions for all consumer devices and platforms allowing retailers and service providers to reach the largest audience possible with secured content.
Our team has been hard at work upgrading the infrastructure and code base to provide you with an improved DRMtoday experience.
This new release involved a large development effort to include many under-the-hood refinements and some great new features that we’re excited to share with you.
DRMtoday is now multi-regional
We have revamped our infrastructure to utilize multiple Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers around the world. This means DRMtoday is now deployed in an AWS region closer to you.
Faster key delivery
Having a licensing service operated from an AWS server closer to you means DRMtoday key delivery has now become quicker!
To determine the region a request is sent to, we use a geolocated DNS provided by Amazon AWS. This feature detects the source of a request and serves the nearest IP addresses for yourself and your customers for the fastest turnaround time.
Additional redundancy
Operating with multi-region AWS servers means our service is even more robust than ever. This provides an additional redundancy layer serving to strengthen our already solid redundancy component for key delivery as well as key ingestion.
New dashboard interface
This release also features a new and improved dashboard. The frontend not only looks better, it’s easier to use and offers additional capabilities such as:
- A better overview of your assets (and easily searchable)
- Improved license delivery log
- Key ingestion functionality
- New options for configuring request authentication behaviour
- Tests for callback URLs
- Smartphone-friendly via responsive web design
