At Castlabs, hiring is so much more than just filling vacancies, it’s about finding future colleagues and innovators who help shape our products, culture, and direction. We thrive to create a transparent and structured journey to ensure we’re a great fit for you and you’re a great fit for us.
Our hiring structure is simple. Here’s what you can generally expect when you apply.
1. Application: The first connection
When there’s a hiring need, we publish roles on selected job boards and our career page. You’re invited to submit your application, including your personal details and an updated CV/resume. Some roles may include a few additional questions to help us understand you better.
Our recruiting team reviews your background against the core requirements of the role. A strong fit on requirements is what matters instead of a 100% match. We’re also interested in your motivation, learning ability, and enthusiasm to take ownership. Applications are reviewed carefully and thoroughly by the hiring team.
2. Interviews: Interactions and expectations
If there’s an initial match, you’ll receive an email with a scheduling link for an interview. We recommend using our website to familiarize yourself with our company and solutions beforehand.
HR interview
This is a 20-30 minute introductory call with your recruiter. It’s an opportunity for us to learn about your career goals and for you to ask questions about the role, team, our mission, and company culture.
Hiring manager interview
If the HR interview is successful, you’ll meet with the hiring manager or a relevant peer. This conversation dives deeper into your professional experience, problem-solving approach, and role-specific expertise. We focus on real-world scenarios and how you handled them.
From the team
We value you and your time, so you’ll always be chatting with humans – instead of an AI interviewer.

3. Take-home challenges: Showcasing your craft
We believe in seeing your skills in action. Depending on the role, you’ll receive a coding challenge for technical roles or a case study for non-technical roles such as product, marketing, finance, or sales.
- Coding challenges: Focus on clean, maintainable code and logical thinking. We provide clear instructions and submission guidelines so you’ll know what to include.
- Case studies: Focus on strategy and communication.
The challenges are designed to be reasonable in scope and to allow you to demonstrate your approach and decision-making. You’ll present and discuss your solution with us.
4. Meet the team: Future colleagues
We work in a Holacracy-inspired structure that encourages ownership and independent ways of working. Collaboration across teams is central to how we operate. In this stage, you’ll meet teammates you’d work with on a day-to-day basis and gain insight into team dynamics, tools, and workflows.
Curious about our story, our team, and the values that shape how we work?
5. Cultural assessment: Our values, your new workspace!
Skills are essential, but so are the people who bring diverse perspectives while sharing our values of curiosity, empathy, energy, and continuous growth.
This step is completed at your own pace and is designed as a short self-assessment questionnaire. All answers are welcome – share what feels right for you. We’re interested in an honest reflection of how you think and work.
6. Offer: Are we a match?
After a careful internal review, if we’re a fit for each other, then welcome to our amazing team!
