Announcing two open-source DASH applications

To help support the growing DASH community, we have announced the release of two open-source applications: DASH.encrypt and

DASH Industry Forum

You can download both of these free-of-charge, and also participate in their improvement through their GitHub project pages. is an ActionScript based DASH player for browsers using the Adobe Flash plug-in. We also include a demo to see it in action.

DASH.encrypt is a Java based video segmenting and encryption tool for generating DASH content. It also includes a feature to optionally encrypt streams for Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection.
